ABOUT
My Name is Melinda Rogers-Bradley. My goal is to provide timely and relevant information to help Memphis families decide about entertainment and public life in Memphis and the midsouth. I am a journalist residing in Memphis, Tennessee. I hold a bachelor's in Communication from the University of Memphis with a minor in Sociology. I am currently seeking to obtain a Master’s Degree in New Media Journalism from Full Sail University.
Living in the Midsouth while raising three children prepared me to examine the fabric of my community. Deep concern about the health and safety of my family influences my stories, which offer timely information about family-friendly events and the safety concerns associated with them.
My 15 plus years of experience working with local events and organizations has given me a unique perspective and a drive to share my experience and strength with my readers and community. I am a longtime volunteer for Mid-South Science and Fictions Conventions LLC and the Memphis Gay and Lesbian Youth aka MAGY.
My entertainment industry experience and history as crew on a paddlewheel steamboat on the Mississippi River ignited a passion for events. My work experience includes Contemporary Media Incorporated, the publisher of the Memphis Flyer Newspaper, which ignited a love of Journalism in me.
Whether reporting on mask mandates and covid 19, or the latest concert or festival, I strive to create informative and engaging fact-based content. My goal is to design content that families in the Midsouth can use to make informed decisions about participating in events and feeling safe at work, school, or play. I will provide a wide range of material that can guide parents in their decisions related to families in the public venues and events around the Midsouth.
Just to be clear, I have been places and done things. I love my Swiss Shepard, Star, evening relaxation in my backyard, and fast cars.
Be sure to subscribe To my blog, perhaps even drop me a line. I would love to hear from you.
